After a challenging 16 months, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is heading back into the concert hall to celebrate their 75th-anniversary event and the arrival of their new Music Director Vasily Petrenko. This comes hot on the heels of His Royal Highness, The Princes of Wales becoming the orchestra’s patron.

We've caught up with Huw Davies, Deputy Managing Director of the RPO, for a flavour of what to expect from the orchestra this season.

Huw we are excited to see the RPO celebrate 75 years with a special concert at the Royal Albert Hall, can you tell us more?

The concert will be held Tuesday 21st September at 7.30pm. With music from three of the greatest English composers; Delius (Over the Hills and Far Away), Elgar (Cello Concerto) and Walton (Belshazzar's Feast). Sheku Kanneh-Mason will play Elgar, whilst Sir Bryn Terfel will play Belshazzar's Feast.
