What is your role at The Lodge at Ashford?

I am the Senior Accommodation Supervisor. Before joining the team, I worked in various hotels.

What was your first experience of the Lodge at Ashford?

I was struck by the beautiful views of the Ashford Estate from the front door of The Lodge. The reception staff were also very friendly, I felt at ease straight away.

Tell me something about the Lodge people might not know.

We now have beehives situated down in the meadow to the front of The Lodge. This is amazing because we have started to produce our own honey, for the entire estate!

What makes the Lodge special?

The Lodge is a family-friendly home away from home, situated in a beautiful location. It is the perfect location for all of the family; there are many fun activities that we offer on the Estate.

What does your typical day at the Lodge look like for you?

My day begins with inspecting the bedrooms after the team has done their daily tasks. We ensure that our rooms are cleaned to the highest standard for our guests. Amongst other daily duties, I order the linens and sign off on the roaster.

My day is busy but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

What is your favourite part of your role?

My favourite part of the day is making sure that the rooms are looking their best for each of our guests checking in, it really gives me a great sense of achievement and satisfaction.

What do you do to relax when you are not working?

I love to canoe; I find the water very relaxing

What three words would you use to describe The Lodge?

Homely, breathtaking, creative!

What is the proudest achievement of your time at the Lodge?

Being part of the team who were awarded the Gold Award from the Irish Accommodation Services Institute a few years ago.
